Empower Your Mind, Empower Your Body

Turn up the love to quiet your inner bully.

Turn up the love to quiet your inner bully.

An empowered mind needs an empowered body. As we fight for body autonomy, it’s important to pause and make sure we are nurturing the things we can control about our bodies. The biggest hurdle in the quest for feeling empowered in our bodies is our own mind. Self-criticism is brutal, especially when the media and society’s definition of beauty are fed to us constantly.

At Female Collective we are so grateful for all the body positive voices breaking through the noise! So turn them up because true beauty is not a reflection of our outward appearance, it is a reflection of the rich inner love we have for ourselves that flows out of us in the form of style, confidence, and magnetic energy.

The way we care for, speak, and think about our bodies directly impacts both our physical and mental health. Wholeness comes from an aligned body and mind. We can’t step into our full potential if the two are at odds. So how do we quiet the negative self talk? We shift our focus to change our mind, not our body.

Make a gratitude list every day for everything your body allows you to accomplish. We could not be the amazing humans that we are without our bodies to carry us through the day. Our bodies are magic!

Apologize to your body for any negative thoughts you have about it. This is where the healing begins!

Spend time loving your body in the mirror. When we shift our focus to the parts of us we love, we shift the energy we carry too!

Wear what makes you feel good. If we feel good in what we’re wearing, we can focus on what we’re doing rather than worrying about how we look doing it. Create mental space for joy!

Graciously receive and accept compliments. When someone takes the time to appreciate something about us, really let it sink in. The way we see ourselves is very different from how others see us. Listen to the love!

Every body deserves to be seen. When we embrace and celebrate our bodies, we begin to see that our bodies aren’t flawed, beauty standards are. There are far more important things — like our character, our mental health, and our happiness — to strive for than beauty standards rooted in unrealistic expectations. You are beautiful, just as you are.
